For each of the last 5 years I have compiled a video summarizing the best parts of my year. While there are both ups and downs to life, I am the ever optimist and these are the memories I want to remember.

Keeping Your Passion Alive

Thanks to the influence of social media sites like Instagram, the life of a digital nomad seems glamorous and alluring. The images are often over sexualized and misleading (my friend RV Chickadee recently wrote a pretty funny – and accurate – blog about this).

The truth is that a digital nomad has to work for a living. Usually, pretty dang hard. And just like anyone else in any other job, we can get burnt out. When you live your passion full time, it’s easy to lose perspective and lose that passion. We have to take active steps to stay creative, and stay happy.

The Best Bits: Death Valley

With the growing age of social media and increasing accessibility of quality cameras, it’s becoming more common for photographers to share their work. I could let this upset me. I could see this as an over saturation of competition, and a devaluing of my skillset. But I don’t. I choose to view this new age as an opportunity for me to share as well – to reach people I otherwise would not be able to.
