Here are a few ice shots from snowshoeing up to an icy lake the other day. The bubbles in the ice are caused by methane gas being released from plants in the lake. The sun hits them beautifully making them look like glass!

This beautiful bighorn posed for us for several mi

This beautiful bighorn posed for us for several minutes, giving the kiddos a good show. We also saw an endangered california condor and a bobcat! The bobcat had killed a deer right on the main trail. We had to stop for over an hour while the rangers hazed the little guy away from us and moved the deer. No pics of that! Always an adventure in the canyon.

I was reminiscing about the days we used to be able to photograph from the edge of Maroon Lake, and so I edited this image I created in 2017. Because of the crowds, there is now a rope around the lake for protection. This is but one of the reasons we need to respect our planet, in hopes these areas will remain for future generations. 🌲🌎
